Freiburg museums have something for everyone

The Archaeological Museum Colombischlössle, right by the Park Hotel Post exhibits findings from the Palaeolithic Age to the Middle Ages. The Augustine Museum has a remarkable collection of art from the Middle Ages to the 19th century. The Museum of New Art in Marienstrasse presents works from the classical modern to contemporary art. In the Baroque Wentzingerhaus, a department of the Augustine Museum displays exhibits from 900 years of city history. The Natural Museum also brings young visitors closer to a variety of natural and cultural worlds. The young artist workshop L6 presents modern art from Freiburg and its region; the Art Association showcases trends in contemporary art; the Pewter Figure Section (Zinnfigurenklause) in the Schwabentor exhibits the history of the freedom movements in Baden; and also the E-Werk, the T66 Kulturwerk and many private galleries arrange exhibitions and private viewings.
