Weintage in Freiburg-St. Georgen 10.05. - 13.05.2024
Traditionally, the first wine festival in the region attracts many visitors to enjoy, stroll and have fun. It will be opened with reigning and former wine sovereigns, the Lord Mayor and music on Friday, May 10, 2024, at 6 pm under the maypole (corner of Langgasse/Malteserordensstraße). Wendlingen's atmospherically decorated arcades and courtyards provide an opportunity to socialize until Monday. The offer ranges from Baden culinary delights and a great selection of Markgräfler wines to entertainment with music from the music association and various bands.
The suburb of St. Georgen, which was once a winegrowing village, is located in the south-west of Freiburg. Due to its rural atmosphere and village charm, St. Georgen is a very quiet and popular district for families and older people. Due to its location and proximity to the Schönberg vineyards, St. Georgen is also known as the gateway to Markgräflerland. Even today, wine still plays a very important role in St. Georgen. An exploration of the wine tradition is possible all year round on a wine and history trail. This circular trail takes you on a journey of discovery into the nature and vegetation of the Schönberg vineyards. The opening hours are:
Friday May 10th 18.00 - 01.00 h
Saturday May 11th 18.00 - 01.00 h
Sunday May 12th 11.00 - 22.00
Monday May 13th 18.00 - 24.00 h
